cameras have won a Royal Award for its contribution
to road safety. Speed Check was nominated by the Nottingham
Safety Camera Partnership for a
Prince Michael International Road Safety Award.
Speed Check won the Prince
Michael International Road Safety Award (PRISMA)
for Technology in 2002. Road
Safe & PRISMA honoured Speed Check for outstanding
innovation for the SPECS Cameras. SPECS has dramatically
reduced casualties in the areas where it has been
installed and has improved compliance with speed limits.
Speaking of the importance of improved technology for
road safety, Alick Whitfield from BSI said "We
are absolutely delighted to present this award to SPECS
for an innovation which epitomises everything that the
scheme stands for." (Alick Whitfield, BSI
